Job Description
At the dawn of a new space age, Lockheed Martin is a pioneer, partner, innovator and builder. Our amazing men and women are on a mission to make a difference in the world and every single day we use our unique skills and experiences to create, design and build solutions to some of the worlds’ hardest engineering problems. Do you want to be part of a culture that inspires employees to think creatively, exceed their own expectations and build incredible products? We provide the resources, inspiration and focus - if you have the passion and courage to dream big, then we want to build a better tomorrow with you.

Do you have a passion to get humans back to the moon and eventually to Mars? NASA has developed the “Exploration Campaign” that includes steps for the development of the Lunar Orbital Platform-Gateway. Jim Bridenstine, NASA Administrator, said: “The glory of the Gateway is that it’s not just for the moon. In future years, it is the best point from which to go deeper.” The first element of The Gateway is the Power Propulsion Element (PPE) and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers. The PPE program is looking to build a core team of highly motivated engineers excited to be working in a fast pace, dynamic environment. This is a rare opportunity for you to help NASA meet the challenges of the first step in achieving that “long-term presence at the moon” and the stepping point for human missions to Mars.

Position is contingent upon program contract award expected by Q2 2019

The GNC Senior Engineer independently perform a broad range of design, analysis, integration and test tasks of the GNC subsystem for the PPE. The PPE will have complex system interactions with components including large HCTs, very large solar arrays, multiple configurations and crewed operations. Successful delivery of the GNC system will require effective interactions with multiple functional areas, NASA, teammates, and subcontractors

The successful candidate will be able to understand complex GNC interactions at a system and subsystem level, be able to resolve complex multi-functional design/integration problems and provide innovative solutions on a tight schedule and budget.

To promote the sharing of ideas, Lockheed Martin fosters an inclusive work environment that encourages differences and big-picture thinking.

Our employees play an active role in strengthening the quality of life where we live and work by volunteering more than 850,000 hours annually. Here are some of the benefits you can enjoy:
