You will perform as a member of a team in the role of a technician where you will perform spray, wipe, or brush of surface coverings to space flight parts and assemblies. Exercising a complete knowledge of procedures and techniques related to surface preparation, and application of materials, you will utilize techniques that adhere to specifications and safety procedures while producing top quality finished products.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:
• Apply various tapes, paper, plastics, or other stencil/masking materials for coating applications.
• Mix paints to specified proportions to obtain proper consistency for application.
• Follow blueprints, Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI), Manufacturing Process Specifications (MPS), Parts, Materials and Process Engineering (PMP) material specifications, production illustrations, work instructions, and other authorized engineering documents.
• Use precision measuring equipment, including electronic devices, to check and determine proper thickness requirements to meet specifications of work being performed.
• Perform rework, modifications, and touch up of operations on projects.
• Capable of using a respirator and having regular health evaluations as deemed necessary by management.

Typical Experience:
High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or proven ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 1 Year of experience.

Basic Qualifications
• Ability to apply finish protective coatings to non-metallic components.
• Experience using or knowledge of the following painting related equipment: spray guns, brushes, ablative processing equipment, tape-wrapper, autoclaves, ovens.
• Experience with mixing materials as required.

Desired skills
• Experience working with carbon fiber material in the fabrication of composite structures.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
• Abrasive blasting equipment experience.
