Summary:

Manages and directs project from start-up to close-out. Understanding of and adherence to contract documents including plans, specifications, permits, technical elements, scheduling activities, and estimates. Coordinates project scheduling and communication. Manages data and material resources throughout the life of a project to achieve predetermined objectives of scope, cost, time, quality, and participant satisfaction.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

 

Prepares subcontracts, project budget and schedule of values.

Prepares, maintains and enforces Project Schedule

Prepares and enforces Project Strategy Document

Prepares and negotiates Purchase Orders

Prepares and reviews submittals

Prepares monthly billings and submit to client on time

Obtains all required permits

Distributes, maintains and enforces current drawings, specifications and product data

Responsible for:

  • Maintaining a safe work environment and insuring that project is in strict compliance with OSHA and Ludvik safety standards
  • Quality of the installed work
  • Subcontractor performance
  • Material management, including jobsite tools and equipment, at jobsites
  • Proactively resolving disputes without the need for litigation
  • Completion and monitoring of control estimate
  • Set up and maintenance of files according to Policies and Procedures
  • Management of daily affairs to stay on budget and on schedule
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Correct time card reporting and cost reporting
  • Project cash management
  • Prompt pricing and settling of change orders
  • Adherence to and enforcement of Ludvik Policies and Procedures
  • Setting priorities to achieve goals
  • Personal project log
  • Solicitation of additional electrical scope to existing contracts
  • Performance reviews of support staff
  • Close-out job in accordance with Ludvik standards and contract requirements
  • Prepare monthly gross margin summary

Provides leadership, sets examples and sets standards

Responds promptly to needs of fellow team members

Promptly resolves issues with clients

Provides value engineering and technical input to the project team to help satisfy the client’s needs

Insures all installations are neat and workmanlike and conform to applicable code standards

Supervises training of field employees for special systems or techniques

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

The position is responsible for the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, Superintendent, Supervisor and Foreman positions.

 



Required Skills

Must represent Ludvik Electric Co politically, commercially, and for business development to employees, clients, the public, government, and private agencies & businesses.

  • Must have the capability to communicate, solve problems, and be a team member.
  •  Must understand, manage, communicate, and integrate construction data with construction objectives.
  • Organize, estimate, manage, schedule, and interpret objectives & requirements to a project organization.
  • Willing to act as an information manager, estimator, scheduler, purchaser, trainer, and developer of future talent for Ludvik Electric Co.
  • At an expert level--Management of information, schedule, cost, and communications
  • At a working knowledge level--Coordination of information, procurement, and constraints.
  • Maintaining good client relations, client confidence, and enhancing prospects for future business.
  • Understanding and conformance with laws and regulations pertaining to a project.


Required Experience
  • Must have field/construction/electrical/mechanical experience
  • BS in electrical mechanical engineering or construction management
  • Must have at least 5 years related experience
  • 2 years managing project specific staff
