POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in estimates and preparing routine estimates under general supervision. This position will mainly focus on Industrial E&I Estimating.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for those divisions of the project as assigned
•Complete assignments in agreed upon time frame
•Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier quotations or scheduling input as required for the assignments
•Participate in plan review and estimate reviews for respective projects
•Assist in compiling historical cost data for projects
•Confirm list of subcontractors/suppliers proposing on the project
•Collaborate with Architects/Engineers to request clarifications or additional information
•Attend project meetings and perform site investigations as assigned
•Estimating leadership responsibility for small sized projects, as follows:
   oComplete pre-construction survey and other preliminary documents
   oPerform majority of quantity surveys and pricing estimates
   oComplete general conditions
   oPrepare vendor proposal comparison and estimate summary sheets
   oConduct plan review
   oObtain applicable wage rates
   oCoordinate with others the completion of the proposal
   oDevelop and complete project schedule
   oBecome familiar with all estimating software



Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•Associates degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating
•Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience preferred
•Three years of estimating experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
•Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations
•Write reports, business correspondence and document project activities
•Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the general public
•Effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors
•Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
