Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Scheduling professional to join a prominent and growing health system with an opening in the Louisville area!

Medical Scheduler Details:

  • Collects complete, accurate and up to date demographic, insurance, prior and current medical history information. Updates all required systems and files immediately upon receipt of updated or new information.

  • Schedules patients for appointments and/or procedures. Contacts patients who have cancelled appointments within 48 hours to reschedule their appointment and/or procedure. Ensures information is sent to all appropriate departments. Communicates with doctors and nurses as necessary.

  • If the patient needs to be seen immediately, checks the doctor schedule to determine who should see the patient. Involves the appropriate manager if a doctor is not available.

  • Refers all "self-pay" patients to the billing department to set up payment arrangements. If the patient's account is in collection status, refers the patient to the billing dept. for resolution.

  • Schedules appointments sequentially from beginning to end of the day. Does not randomly schedule throughout scheduled days.

  • Contacts patients via the "Recall" process to remind them of the need to schedule appointments, following company policy and protocol.

  • In all activities, functions as the patient's advocate to ensure optimum patient satisfaction with the experience and the care they receive. Always communicates in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that preserves the patient's rights and ensures patient satisfaction.

Medical Scheduler Hours: Monday - Friday 8-5

Medical Scheduler Pay Rate: $14-18/hr based on experience and interview + Full medical, vision, dental and PTO benefits

Medical Scheduler Requirements:

  • Experience in a customer service setting

  • 35 WPM typing speed

  • Phone and computer experience

  • 1-2 years minumum Scheduling or Call Center experience
