Receives, stores and distributes freight.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Reads airway bill, bills of lading, or freight manifest to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys freight from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas with forklift or transporter.
• Sorts and stores dangerous goods in proper area, and perishables to refrigerated rooms.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes to appropriate locations.
• Assembles customer freight from warehouse and places orders on pallets or racks, or conveys orders to docks and trucks. Marks materials with identifying information, as required.
• Opens bales, crates and other containers for break down. Records counts of items received of distributed.
• Weighs and counts items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards and airway bill.
• Arranges stock in specified sequence for import and export.
• Uses computer to enter records or research information. Compiles inventory, item counts, or tallies to client specifications.
• Verifies weights to airway bill and/or dims freight.
• Drives vehicle to transport items, documents, or mail from warehouse or to pick up items from multiple locations.
• Builds or breaks down freight from skids, pallets or ULD’s.
• Complies with the Station’s attendance policy.

• Computer literate

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in on-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Valid State Driver's License with minimal violations during the past 5 years.
• Certified - Dangerous Goods Awareness
• Forklift certification preferred

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Regularly moves boxes and freight both manually and with forklift to buildup or break down pallets and move freight on and off trucks throughout the warehouse.
Must pass pre-employment drug test.
