The District Support Center is seeking applications for a Transportation Director.
Responsible for the overall management and supervision of the Transportation Department. Oversees daily operations to ensure the provision of safe, reliable and efficient transportation services. Duties include hiring, supervising, and evaluating Bus Drivers, substitutes, Driver Trainers, Bus Paraprofessionals, Vehicle Mechanics, and office support staff; developing and implementing bus routes; developing and monitoring the department budget, capital reserve and inventory; preparing and maintaining required reports.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of one to three years experience working in school transportation. Must possess a CDL license with P2S endorsement. Must have experience with and knowledge of bus driving, student management, fleet maintenance, and special needs equipment. Must be computer literate with a reasonable degree of efficiency in typing, working knowledge of office procedures and operation of office equipment and machines. Must have supervisory experience to include problem solving assistance, scheduling and assigning work, training, performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
