Job Description


This is a full time, regular position to manage or assist with comprehensive airport related engineering and design, airport layout plans, airport master plans, aviation system plans, airport environmental assessments and other airport and aviation related projects at airports ranging from small general aviation airports to commercial international airports. Work includes design, research, analysis, writing, public involvement assistance, and associated planning services primarily for airport projects, but sometimes also for other transportation and community planning and design projects. All airport design and planning efforts must be completed in accordance with all applicable FAA regulations, requirements, Orders and Advisory Circulars.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Support for airport design, planning, NEPA projects, and related aviation projects.
2. Support for client project coordination, marketing, and proposal development.
3. Projects primarily located within the Pacific Northwest, Mountain West, and Alaska.
4. Utilize FAA design criteria to prepare and oversee production of engineering drawings,
calculations, project correspondence and record-keeping, report and specifications writing/editing,
cost estimating, and related duties.
5. Prepare airport engineering, planning, NEPA and permitting documents.
9. Other engineering related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Candidates should possess a B.S. degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering or related program. Up to three years of civil engineering experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and certification as an Engineer Intern or Engineer In Training required.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to create and interpret graphs and understand statistical analysis.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
? Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals. Ability to respond to inquiries or
complaints from clients, co-workers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to clients, co-workers, and the public both orally and written.
? Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
? Must be able to use Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, and Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
? Ability to prioritize special projects and daily workload to ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner
