Job Summary (Essential Functions)

The Spanish Interpreter is responsible for understanding and providing Peak Vista's high quality customer service to internal and external customers. The SI agent must demonstrate knowledge of all policies and procedures involving patient information, regulations (HIPPA) and of on-going clinic specific center regulations. The SI agent will also be responsible for providing simultaneous, consecutive interpretations over the phone for appointments or medical visits between patients who prefer to s[eak in their primary language, which is Spanish, a Peak Vista staff who speaks English. In addition to performing interpretations, the SI agent will perform duties of a Customer Service Center agent as needed. Interpret Spanish language calls between patients and staff. Book appointments in Patient Management system and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school Graduate/GED equivalent

Candidate must pass Peak Vista Spanish speaking and writing test, as a condition of employment

Minimum of two years in customer service environment

One year in a call center environment and experience with appointment scheduling

Excellent oral command of English and of a second language (Spanish)

Demonstrate professionalism in a demanding, high stress and fast pace environment

Must be flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
