Job Description


The Windows Admin Supervisor will supervise the implementation, configuration, and management of critical information systems for the company, including server, storage, security, and virtualization infrastructure.  Position will support and implement infrastructure components to assist the growth of the business and meet security, compliance, and availability requirements. He/she will participate in the development and administration of infrastructure strategy, technical standards, process automation, and performance analysis.  The supervisor will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve technical issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Essential Duties:

  • Monitor, track and enforce departmental policies, procedures and communication goals
  • Managing and monitoring Office 365 services and infrastructure environments
  • In charge of the Operations Center during their shift, ensuring transfer of work continuity to the next shift
  • Serve as a technical expert and first point of escalation for engineers
  • Supervise and maintain processes, staffing, and communication to support the NOC
  • Initiate, updates, tracks and closes trouble tickets; creates and communicates scheduled maintenance alerts and service interruption notifications
  • Deploy infrastructure solutions and enhancements to existing security, storage, and server solutions
  • Provide timely response to all incidents, outages and performance alerts. Categorize issues for escalation to appropriate technical teams
  • Configure and maintain physical and virtual environments
  • Monitor and perform server and security audits, system backups, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, including disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system architecture, integration design, system configuration, and technology roadmaps
  • Scripting and automation of processes using PowerShell and other tools
  • Lead and oversee the development and training for staff
  • This will be an after-business hours position

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • 4 years of experience as Windows Systems Administrator including an understanding of OS deployment, administration, networking, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 2003, MCTS in Virtualization or equivalent required
  • University degree in computer science or software engineering experience preferred
  • Working technical knowledge of current software protocols, and Internet standards
  • Extensive Experience in Office 365 Administration
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, including Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
  • Working experience in data center technologies, including TCP/IP networking, SANs (Storage Area Networks), backup systems, and data center facilities management
  • Strong knowledge of scripting languages, such as VB-Script and PowerShell for data center automation
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
