RubinBrown Cyber Security Services deliver services across a broad range of cyber compliance, consulting, and technical assessments. Our projects includes security framework assessments based on NIST, ISO, HIPAA, PCI DSS and the Top 20 Controls. We perform vulnerability and penetration testing assessments, network security reviews and other technical assessments. As part of the IT Risk Services team, we often supplement the external audit, IT audit and SOC 2 teams with technical expertise as needed. We are looking for inspired team members who bring their experience to the team to improve others, want to learn more about cyber security and are willing to work for it.

Major Responsibilities

  • Perform complex security assessments, audits and consulting projects under the supervision of senior team members
  • Perform standard security assessments, audits, and consulting projects with minimal supervision
  • Perform technical security assessments using tools including Nessus, Nipper Studio, Kali Linux and Burp-Suite
  • Contribute skills and knowledge to advance the team
  • Learn new skills through on the job training, personal study and formal training
  • Select a primary certification focus (e.g., CISSP or CISA) and earn the certification
  • Contribute to a collaborative work environment
  • Plan and organize effectively, managing personal work effort
  • Develop and demonstrate technical / functional expertise



  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of recent security consulting, auditing, or compliance experience
  • Hands on experience with security assessment tools and techniques
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure including basics of networks, operating systems (Windows and Linux), enterprise applications and cloud applications
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Willingness to learn fast and work hard
  • Ability to travel up to 40%

Preferred Experience/Background/Skills

  • Certifications: Associate of (ISC)2, CISA, CISSP, or related certifications
  • Understanding of IT risk assessment, IT audit, and related procedures
  • Public accounting experience
  • Hands on experience with network vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, firewall rule set reviews and application security assessments
  • Hands on experience performing detailed compliance audits or consulting on NIST, ISO, HIPAA, PCI DSS, or the Top 20 Controls
  • Hands on experience performing digital forensic analysis projects
