Part Time Day Camp Counselor

- Job Summary
The Day Camp Counselor, under the direct supervision of the Day Camp Director, is responsible for the implementation of age appropriate activities in a variety of surroundings.
- Job Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent. CPR/ First Aid Certification is required. Universal Precaution and Medications Training certificates are required.
Must have three (3) months of satisfactory and verifiable full time or equivalent part time, satisfactory and verifiable experience with school- age children. Must have verifiable proof of 465 hours of experience working with children after the age of 18.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of child care programming; recreation and its application; safety and emergency first-aid procedures; program management; customer service principles; and budget management. The ability to successfully: establish and maintain safe environments for children; perform first aid and/or CPR in an emergency situation; work evenings and weekends; work productively without supervision within established organizational policies and procedures; provide superior customer service and resolve customer complaints and escalated problems; and effectively manage employees and budgets. Skilled in: lifesaving procedures and instruction; recruiting, supervising, training, evaluating and motivating employees.
A combination of education and experience may be considered. The ability to successfully complete a background check including and not limited to criminal history and/or motor vehicle check is required.
