Job Description

Overall Job Objective

Job Summary

Responsible for teaching swim lessons to students of all ages and abilities, independently or with co-instructors
 
 

Job Requirements

Education: Must be 15 years of age or older with some high school education.
 
Experience: Previous swim lesson teaching experience preferred.
 
A combination of experience and education may be considered.
 
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of all swimming strokes and skills, as well as knowledge of American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim levels. 
 
Knowledge of all pool rules and regulations governing the Aquatics Department.
 
Ability to communicate with patrons and staff of all ages in a polite and courteous manner.
 

Required Certifications: Must be currently certified by American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR, and AED or equivalent or willing to obtain prior to hire. Must complete a minimum of a one hour in-service training per month.
 
Preferred Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training preferred.

Additional Information

Work Hours:  Day, evening, weekend and/or holidays hours may be required. Please note weekly work hours will vary depending on the week.
