Part Time Swim Instructor, WSI

- Job Summary
- Responsible for teaching swim lessons to students of all ages and abilities in accordance with the standards set by the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI). This position works under the direction and supervision of Aquatics Coordinator.
- Job Requirements
Must be at least 15 years old and some schooling preferred. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or other nationally recognized swim instructor certification required.
Previous swim lesson teaching experience preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Follows South Suburban guidelines in conjunction with American Red Cross WSI standards in teaching swim lessons. Teaches proper swimming strokes and techniques at the appropriate level. Provides for the safety of students, at all times, following all policies and procedures. Works with students to improve their swimming ability and water skills in a constructive and enjoyable manner. Maintains communication with parents regarding a child's progress or areas of concern. Fills out all required paperwork, in a timely manner, for each class, including individual participant progress reports. Knowledge of all pool rules and regulations governing the Aquatics Department. The ability to successfully complete a background check including but not limited to criminal history search is required.
