Overall Job Objective

Job Summary

This position is responsible for helping keep South Platte Park in excellent condition ecologically and aesthetically, in a safe manner.  This is done through assisting in the implementation of a wide variety of resource management projects including watering tree and shrub plantings, trail maintenance, restroom and trash cleanup, bridge and boardwalk repair, mowing and trail clearance work, weed control, erosion repair, natural area restoration, and landscape maintenance.
 

Job Requirements

Education:
Must be at least 16 years old with two years high school or more.
 
Experience:
An interest in natural resource management, biology, and park maintenance preferred.  College work or experience in related fields preferred.  A combination of experience and education may be considered.
 
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Certifications for herbicide application or use of power equipment are a bonus. Working knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and supplies used in the maintenance of parks. Frequently works without supervision within established organizational values, policies and procedures. Outdoor work in adverse conditions such as extremes in heat and cold, sunlight, lightning, and precipitation over prolonged periods of time.

Additional Information

Work Hours: This is a seasonal position and may work up to 40 hours per week; day, evening, weekend and/or holiday hours may be required. Please note weekly work hours will vary. The season begins on April 4, 2016 and ends on October 4, 2016.
