    Title: Purchasing Manager
    Client: NPW Contracting
    Location: Denver, CO

    Position Summary: Responsible for negotiating pricing on behalf of the company, seeking competitive quotes for our estimating team, acquiring materials as required for project management team, reconciling general ledger accounts, forecasting and budgeting, and contract close-outs for the Company, as well as our customers.

    Essential Job Functions:


    • Generate purchase orders
    • Negotiate pricing on behalf of company
    • Maintain material pricing and quotes, when available
    • Maintain material orders
    • Maintain tax exempt certificates
    • Reconcile month end open PO report
    • Forecast purchasing
    • Maintain project specific inventory
    • Maintain material inventory
    • Work closely with Project Management team to control project budgets
    • Develop and cultivate new supply/vendor sources
    • Develop and maintain department budget


    • Reconcile monthly billing statements
    • Run monthly general ledger reports (two times per month)
    • Reconcile monthly general ledger reports for scoreboard
    • Oversee Accounts Payable administration
    • Recommend vendor invoices for payment
    • Work closely with Controller to develop procedures and controls
    • Work closely with Project Management team to control project budgets


    • Must be able to influence and persuade others to achieve desired event outcomes
    • Must be able to organize, plan and prioritize
    • Improve project and company operations by recommending better methods, staffing and procedural changes
    • Must listen to directions and suggestions from supervisors or other employees regarding safe and proper work practices.
    • Must evaluate that information to devise and implement a plan based on the evaluation for carrying out the duties of this position
    • Must identify workplace safety hazards and take all appropriate corrective action to eliminate or minimize them
    • Must be able to negotiate pricing and terms with vendors
    • Must be able to communicate effectively via email or phone
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
    • Must possess excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
    • Must act professionally and with integrity
    • Must be self-motivated

    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
    • Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds throughout the work day

    Experience and Education:

    • College degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
    • Data entry/10-key experience
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
