We are a leader in cannabis acceptance, accessibility, compliance, quality, and market share. We are looking to add a dynamic Security Technician to join our team!


A Security Technician is responsible for performing skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and testing of access control, closed circuit television (CCTV) and security systems hardware and software.  Additional duties include:  installing, maintaining, repairing and testing data cable and wiring, electronic door locks, door position switches, request to exit detectors, CCTV cameras, and other security systems related hardware; testing security systems hardware and correcting malfunctions to restore the conformance of the equipment to established standards; working with data, alarm and monitoring circuits; installing and relocating security systems equipment; conducting research and analyzing test measurements; performing regularly-scheduled camera reviews, and verifying facility access logs, and assisting in designing security systems within TGS facilities.  Work involves evaluating present systems and recommending system expansion, modification, and replacement.  This class performs related duties as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains a friendly, courteous, and compassionate demeanor at all times, customer service oriented
    • Apply concepts of basic electricity and apply concepts of basic electronics component theory
    • Apply concepts of alarm system operations and apply concepts of fire codes
    • Use and care for electrical test equipment and tools
    • Install burglar alarm, install fire alarm, and Install panic alarms
    • Troubleshoot and repair burglar alarms and panic alarm systems
    • Repair intrusion and fire alarm systems
    • Service and perform preventative maintenance of intrusion and fire alarm systems
    • Perform administrative office duties as it relates to managing various assignments and tasks to meet deadlines
    • Work with limited supervision and ability to work in a high paced environment
    • Understands the complexity of compliance requirements governing our businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Marijuana Enforcement Division, Fire Department, City Zoning and Planning, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and more
    • Responsible for legal compliance with all regulatory requirements, by researching, auditing and verifying a variety of data
      • Audits internal security policies and makes recommendations for improvements and best practices, in adherence to Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) standards
      • Performs research and coordinates with retail managers to gather information and observe employee activity to determine compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and company policy
      • Performs perimeter checks and facility inspections to verify compliance with all company security and access policies;
      • Performs regularly-scheduled alarm system checks and replaces batteries to ensure ongoing operations
      • Adapt to a variety of working environments including offices, with ability to gather information from a range of employees
      • Responsible for accessing and updating documentation using a variety of software applications and operating systems
        • Responsible for performing daily audits of the following systems: key assignments, access and security codes, badge possession, perform regularly-scheduled camera reviews, and verify facility access logs
        • Acts as a checks and balances auditor of S-Type Armored personnel and operations in all divisions
        • Completes Audit Reports following daily audits to initiate next steps for Investigators, Auditors, and Management staff
          • Coordinates and maintains schedules with management staff of retail stores and cultivation facilities to troubleshoot DVR, alarm and surveillance system issues
          • Identifies physical security environmental needs and maintains a master list of security coeds and security schedules
          • All other job duties as assigned



  •  High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in any field preferred


  • Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management

Required Skills & Experience

  • Excellent computer, mathematical, language, and reasoning skills
  • High-level attention to detail, administrative skills, and highly organized
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with current versions
  • Ability to follow established company protocol for digital and printed document storage
  • Risk analysis experience required, auditing experience preferred; Locksmith knowledge helpful
  • Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, HIPAA, and CDPHE requirements
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Able to maintain confidentiality for ensuring safe and secure environments for people and product
  • Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities
  • Interviewing, interrogation and/or information gathering experience helpful
  • Retail, operations and/or security experience a plus

  • Must be able to individually lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time

Work Requirements

  • Must be able to work off-site in retail, manufacturing, or production facilities with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions; May require use of safety equipment or personal protective equipment, as needed
  • Must have and be able to maintain valid driver’s license
    • Must be able to acquire MED Key badge ($300 Fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment

Travel Requirements

  • Regularly requires local travel, as needed.
