General Description:

We are looking for a Laborer/Carpenter with a strong work ethic, a professional appearance and demeanor, and a good overall knowledge of many construction types. You must also display excellent customer service skills, including solid communication and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to interact in a positive way with a wide variety of different types of clients, subcontractors, fellow employees, management, and office personnel. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain absolute integrity and honesty with management, subordinates, clients, subcontractors, and all team members
  • Motivated to understand and enhance client's mission
  • Work with blueprints or instructions from Superintendent/Foreman
  • Carpentry as needed for Federal remodel projects which may include:
    • Metal and wood stud framing
    • Acoustical ceiling tile and grid
    • Minor drywall and repairs
    • Minor concrete formwork
    • Install doors, windows and hardware
    • Erect scaffolding
    • Paint, stain, sand, clean, and finish walls, floors, ceilings, and other structures
  • Equipment operator duties may include:
    • Using a forklift to load and unload materials
    • Using a skid steer as needed
    • Using a man lift as needed
    • Operate other equipment as needed for the project
  • Other duties may include
    • Demolition
    • Erosion control BMP installation
    • Site clean up
    • Minor concrete installation
    • Assist in low voltage conduit and cabling
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner
  • Utilize standard power and hand tools

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

  • Travel may be required
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Available to work weekends and evenings as needed (not typical)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
    • Must be a motivated, self-starter
  • Federal Government contracting or employment experience a plus
  • Must currently process and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with drug free work place policies (including all Federal laws)
  • Must be able to pass company and Federal background checks and be able to obtain and maintain a TS SCI security clearance
  • Must be able to function as a responsible team member
  • Must exhibit excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to climb ladders and access roof tops
  • Must be able to safely move around construction jobsites, stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to travel to job sites
  • Required Training:
    • OSHA 10
    • CPR and 1st Aid Certification
