AFTER SCHOOL ASSISTANT
Broomfield Corps – Broomfield, Colorado

Scope of Position:
The After-School Assistant assists the On-Site Program Director to operate Corps after-school programming. This may include helping with whatever is needed. Typically, the After-School Assistant will be assigned regular, daily responsibilities by the On-Site Program Director depending on the needs of the program and the strengths of the Assistant.
While the Assistant does not work independently with children, the Assistant plays a significant ‘support role’ to the On-Site Program Director. The Assistant works on the frontline with students, along with the Director. This is a part-time, hourly position.


Requirements
Position Qualifications:
• Minimally 18 years of age.
• Must submit fingerprints, and certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Universal Precautions.
• Demonstrates a passion for working with children in a learning environment.
• Collaborates as a team player while reporting any issues to the Director
• Assists with the After-School programming where needed; assisting with supervision, guidance, and caring for children in an educational, enrichment and recreational setting.
• Provides leadership support to Corps ministry components that are integrated into the after-school program.
• Provides encouraging instruction to students during group activities.
• Assists the Director or Group Leader to plan, teach lessons, provide homework support, and engage with activities.
• Assists with food preparation, serving, and clean up.
• Develops partnerships with parents and responsive relationships with children.
• Assists with general set up, cleanup of program areas, as well as with the opening/closing of the facility.
• Makes sure each child is accounted for at all times and maintaining a safe environment.
