You will work with a highly collaborative team in an Agile environment embracing a "fail-fast" mentality (fail fast, fail often, react quickly and learn from every failure). You will engage with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Technology Architects, and Automation team members on cross-functional activities to design, develop, and test cutting-edge software solutions.

You will be responsible for working on a team to develop establish core DevOps technologies and philosophies. You may be deployed to Scrum teams to improve automation and CI/CD pipelines, as well as, drive monitoring solutions into software to enable this philosophy. You will partner with engineering teams across software engineering to design, develop, install, monitor and test standardized solutions that meet established security control objectives and implement efficient solutions. You will also partner with development teams and work with them on product security principles across the product lifecycle (concept, development, operation and iteration) and influence the design and envisioned use to help teams create products that are secure by design, secure in use and secured through partnership.

ULA Job Description:
Designs, develops, operates and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as flight control and display systems, mechanical and electrical systems. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel.

External Additional Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • 4 to 8 years of hands on related work experience
  • Experience with Unix-based operating systems
  • Familiarity with public cloud environments and technologies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience working with a multiple CICD pipeline and continuously improving the release process for many products with competing timelines
  • Development experience in Python, Ruby, AWK or Shell
  • Working knowledge of software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems and experience automating build and release processes, build management, dependency management and continuous integration/deployment tools
  • Experience with Agile development and methodologies and experience with Linux and UNIX
  • Understanding of service-oriented attitude with excellent problem solving and analytical skills


External Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 4+ years of Linux system administration
  • Extensive experience with one or more of the following scripting languages:  Perl, Python, Ruby, AWK, Shell, Bash
  • Experience with infrastructure management and support in a large-scale production environment
  • Experience managing AWS environment in support of software development
  • Experience with container development and deployment life-cycle, particularly Docker
  • Extensive experience using virtualization technologies for pre-production life-cycle environments, such as Vagrant
  • Understanding of software architectures and application of security and monitoring in each
  • Distributed client/server
  • Centralized multi-tier
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Languages
  • Knowledge of hardware-software integration and appropriate performance testing techniques
  • Experience with configuration management tools in terms on monitoring, deployment automation, and orchestration (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Splunk/Kibana, etc)
  • Experience in engineering custom solutions to operational problems
  • Engineering tools administrative and technical support experience
  • Experience with supporting an environment with strict compliance standards, such as responding to security audits and attestation to compliance standards.
