Job Description
Design and deliver training programs for all levels of personnel. Develop assessments and visual aids, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keep abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develop in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. Coordinate with Supply Chain organization to evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs.

May be responsible for development of e-learning programs. Establish, maintain or modify curricula, course types including course catalog, course events, qualifications including qualification catalog, certifications, requirement assignments profiles based on completed and approved control documents. Coordinate and administer SAP Learning System Optimization (LSO) system activities associated with training, certifications/de-certifications, qualifications and other training administrative/scheduling events for ULA and Non ULA personnel. Assist with defining processes governing learning system activities, and with coordination and integration of learning modules.

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or four years of work experience in lieu of degree
  • Related work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Possesses strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly, plan and execute, and solve problems.
  • Candidate must communicate effectively and cooperatively with team members and leaders to maintain good work relationships
  • Experience in facilitating and delivering instructor-led training
  • Must be able to travel less than 20%

External Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with technical skills instruction, demonstration, and evaluation (examples: soldering, electrical bonding, torqueing, connector mate/de-mate, personnel lift equipment, forklifts, cranes, etc.)
  • Experience with Organizational Development programs; facilitation of Leadership or Employee Development courses
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems
  • Experience with procurement of vendor training
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to monitor and maintain SharePoint sites
  • Ability to develop/monitor and implement metric charts
  • Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events

Functional Job Description

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.

Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing and use interpersonal skills. The employee is regularly required to prioritize, multitask, analyze, interpret, coordinate, compile, evaluate, synthesize, compute, problem solve, concentrate, and think critically. The employee is occasionally required to copy, instruct, and negotiate.

Judgment and Decision-Making: Work is regularly assigned by self, supervisor, and departmental staff. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to exercise prudent judgment, decision making, and analytical skills to determine manner and operational steps necessary to properly handle inquiries and perform daily tasks within professional standards. Decision making is guided by ULA policies and procedures.
