The Division of Hospital Medicine at the University ofColorado is excited to recruit for Directorof the Nocturnist Service Line/Nocturnist position.
Nocturnist ServiceLine Director:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual atthe Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to join our Nocturnistteam and serve as the Director of the Nocturnist service line. Our nocturnist position offers excitingclinical opportunities at our Anschutz campus at the University of ColoradoHospital which is a busy 673-bed hospital that has been recently named to the2017-2018 US News and World Report Honor Roll. Our night positions have an emphasis on teaching and excellent patient careand we work closely with the University of Colorado Internal Medicine residencyprogram and our Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Program (for NursePractitioner/Physician Assistants) providing teaching and oversight to thehousestaff and APP fellows.
The Director of the Nocturnist Service line will report tothe directly to Division Head of Hospital Medicine and Associate Division Headand will work collaboratively with day and swing service line directors andfaculty to build successful strategies around clinical, educational, andscholarly activities. The NocturnistService Line Director will also partner collaboratively with otherDivision/Department leadership and health system leadership. The Nocturnist Service Line Director willutilize data to help drive innovation and to ensure both the highest quality ofcare and financially sustainable staffing models. The Director will also be responsible forensuring mentorship of junior faculty who are dedicated to nights and ensuringa culture that also focuses on the importance of education, collaboration,collegiality, and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Our hospitalists are full-time faculty and are offered theopportunity for academic promotion judged on criteria of demonstratedexcellence as a clinician/educator/scholar. Administrativeresponsibilities allow for development as a leader within the hospitalistprogram, University of Colorado Hospital, the School of Medicine, theDepartment of Medicine and the Internal Medicine Residency TrainingProgram. Scholarly activities are encouraged and opportunities to publishand be involved in quality improvement and research are plentiful.
