Job Description

The Department of Counseling and Human Services in the College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for an open-rank (assistant, associate, or full professor) tenure-track faculty position in the CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling program. The workload for this position is teaching 5 courses per academic year (2/3 teaching load; in addition to counseling courses, undergraduate courses in human services are also available; summer teaching opportunities may also available); maintaining an advising caseload of graduate and undergraduate students; supervising practicum and internship students; engaging in research; and providing service to support the department, college, and university.

The successful candidate will possess, and be able to demonstrate, a variety of pedagogical approaches that enhance student learning, including the use of technology inside and outside of the classroom.

Minimum Requirements
  • Earned doctorate in counseloreducation and supervision from a CACREP-accreditedprogram. ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 18, 2019.
OR
  • Doctorate in aclosely related field (e.g., counseling psychology or marriage andfamily therapy) and to have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for atleast a full academic year before July 1, 2013.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or certification in addictions counseling; experience or research in suicide prevention; supporting military connected clients; at-risk youth; assessment and evaluation; and/or rural mental health services.
