    Job Title: Learning Coach - Librarian (Building)

    Work Year: 185 Days (Teacher Contract)

    Reports To: Principal

    SUMMARY

    The Learning Coach (LC) - Librarian supports teachers by strengthening instructional capacity through the design and modeling of sound pedagogical practices. Coaches work collaboratively with staff to create innovative, learner-driven experiences that meet educators where they are and support them as they grow through a personalized learning pathway. In addition, this role advocates for equitable infrastructure that ensures access to connectivity, digital devices, information, programming, resources, and services for all students in support of the school and district vision. Coaches will model effective use of data for reflection and instructional improvement in order to promote digital fluency and citizenship among teachers and students. Fostering trust, collaboration, teamwork, and shared vision are cornerstones of this position. LCs work collaboratively with building and district administrators, TOSAs, and fellow LCs to assess, rethink, and redesign traditional spaces and instructional design frameworks that support personalized learning. The LC - Librarian also oversees and manages the building’s library program.

    REPORTS TO: Building Principal with consultation from Technology Department

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited institution in a field that prepares this person for the functions and duties of this position

    • Current Colorado teaching and/or principal license

    • Approaches new and challenging situations with a growth mindset

    • Highly organized and manages multiple projects and assignments effectively and efficiently

    • Maintains confidentiality and student data privacy

    • Proven track record of collaborative relationship building, sharing resources and solving problems

    • Strong instructional technology skills, modeling and promotion of integrated digital citizenship

    • Uses resources to employ strong informational literacy skills and knowledge of Colorado Academic Standards and their application to instruction

    • Promotes essential skills throughout all areas of the learning community

    • Demonstrated leadership qualities in working with teachers and principals to support school and district goals and objectives

    • Works as a positive contributing member of a team as well as a self-directed independent staff member focused on classroom, building, and district goals

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Current Colorado teaching license endorsement in one or more of the following:

      • Instructional Technology Teacher

      • Instructional Technology Specialist

      • Teacher Librarian

      • School Librarian

    • Advanced Degree from accredited institution in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design and Development, Information and Learning Technologies, Library and Information Science, School Leadership, or a related field

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Cultivate a Culture of Continuous Learning

      • Increase the building’s capacity to effectively use educational/instructional technology and essential skills through sustained coaching relationships with all classroom teachers and students

      • Rethink & model pedagogical strategies and evaluate digital tools to meet the needs of today’s learners

      • Provide opportunities for teachers to connect and collaborate beyond the school day

      • Ability to effectively manage a flexible schedule and productively participate in a district LC Cohort on a regular basis as scheduled

    • Strengthen Personalized Instructional Strategies:

      • Work with district TOSAs to provide teachers with coaching cycles, building training/offerings and sustained, job-embedded, professional development and support for strategic goals

      • Facilitate teaching and learning enhanced by digital resources when appropriate

      • Consistently employs instructional frameworks with which to measure technology implementation (e.g. SAMR, ISTE Standards, Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy, D.O.K.)

    • Lead in using data to Inform Personalized Learning:

      • Work with administrators, instructional teams and individual teachers to gather and analyze relevant information on an ongoing basis to identify learning needs of students and staff

      • ?Advocate and promote digital access and citizenship with all staff and all students?

      • Model and communicate data privacy policies and expectations to all learners

    • Leads and Fosters a Culture of Collaboration:

      • Participate in the LC Cohort and ET/IL Meetings for professional growth, support and fulfilling the responsibilities of Weld RE-4 adopted curriculum, Digital Citizenship Education, Online Safety measures, and community outreach/awareness around such initiatives

      • Support school leadership to establish a working relationship and culture of trust in order to support implementation of both the school and district vision plans

      • Provide time and learning structures for coaches and teachers to work together individually or in teams

      • Serves on school leadership team

    • Other duties as assigned
